Mega Man 1 is still a fantastic platformer overall, it's just hard to go back to because damn this is worse than the others. Regardless of your opinions on 7 & 8, this is probably the worst of the classic style Mega Man games. But the ost, overall charm of picking your boss and base Mega Man gameplay is still here, but I'd probably just start with the sequel if I were you.
